Raw Materials Logistics

Provides stable transportation of raw materials through market analysis, operational expertise, and specialized knowledge of raw material logistics.

    POSCO FLOW manages the transportation of key raw materials used in steel and ferronickel production at steel mills and electric furnaces, including iron ore, coal, limestone, and nickel ore, sourced from both domestic and international markets. Iron ore, coal, and nickel ore are imported entirely from overseas, with major shipping origins including Australia, Brazil, Canada, Russia, China, the United States, and New Caledonia. To support the annual transportation of more than 84 million tons of bulk raw materials for POSCO Group companies, a wide range of shipping agreements is managed, including long-term CVC contracts, COA agreements, and spot charter contracts. Based on expertise in market analysis and vessel operations across various dry bulk vessel types, from 300,000-ton large carriers to smaller vessels, as well as a deep understanding of cargo characteristics, raw materials are transported at competitive freight rates and delivered on schedule to help improve customer profitability.

Across both bulk and container cargo categories, logistics services are delivered based on the principles of cost efficiency, speed, and safety. Optimal transportation solutions are also provided for each cargo type, including specialized containers for refrigerated and frozen cargo, chemicals, and machinery.
